Project is wonderfully haunting and soul scarring. It’s majestic and beautiful mixed with pained howls from the soul. Few,’very few albums do I enjoy as much as this work of art.

Founded in 2018, Autumn Laments is a melancholic/atmospheric Black Metal project based in Germany. Inspired by the Australian scene with bands like Austere, Funeral Mourning and Abyssmal Sorrow, Autumn Laments tries to combine the concept of Black Metal with a bleak and dreary sound as well as a slower pace compared to traditional Black Metal. With a dense melancholic atmosphere, portraying the monotony and cold sides of life, combined with metaphoric lyrics, it might as well be considered "Bleak Metal" instead.

The artist behind the project, known as L.S., is responsible for all instruments as well as the vocals of this one-man project. Having released two albums, "Gone" and "Elegies", which gained the band a following since it's founding, the projects upcoming, third album "Below the Surface" is currently in the making.

"Gone" was released in 2019 in a (now sold out) cassette format on the artist's Bandcamp. The version on CD proposed here has been slightly remastered by L.S. himself

NONE a opéré un virage dans Where Life Should Be et ça se confirme davantage dans Damp Chill of Life. Le temps des métaphores est révolu : l'humidité froide, c'est celle des larmes qui coulent sur le visage à cause de la dépression. Tout pleure dans cet album : les guitares typées DSBM grésillent, les solos ("The Damp Chill of Life", "It's Painless To Let Go") sont liquides et coulent, les voix prennent à la gorge ; même le piano, étranglé par les sanglots ("Cease"), est aphone. While Ofte jeg drømmer mig død will most likely always be my favourite Afsky album (being one ov my favourite albums in general), Om hundrede år ticks all the boxes I hoped it would: the calm and simultaneously depressing folk elements are there; the wailing screams of a forlorn spirit, forced to eternally wander the woods (apt comparison, deadpunk!); the harsh, bitterly cold guitar riffs and the ultimate realisation of life, death and our inevitable undoing.
